A public charity providing innovative revenue and exposure opportunities to community artists. We are dedicated to nurturing the creation and appreciation of art in San Diego.

Phantom Galleries
Art exhibitions in temporarily-empty store fronts and empty buildings and sculpture shows in temporarily-transformed vacant lots. The types of shows include:

  • juried group member shows
  • open juried shows for both members and non-members
  • solo and group shows
  • invitationals
  • proposals

Juried shows enlist the aid of prominent critics, curators, museum professionals, artists and educators. Juried shows are scheduled approximately one year in advance. As an artist member of the Society, this is your opportunity to create the show you've always dreampt of with the support and professional guidance of SDFAS staff.

Educational Mission
One of the Society's goals is to create an active learning environment. The Society fulfills this goal in part by providing mentoring opportunities, lectures, workshops, outreach programs, and opportunities for peer review. Feel free to offer suggestions concerning the lecture series and on other types of educational programs.
