Yvette was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. She attended University of Texas at El Paso and moved to San Diego, where she received her A.A. with an emphasis in Child Development. She has worked in many culturally diverse schools, such as Nierman Preschool, SDFAS, and SDUSD. She substituded in blended classrooms at the Headstart Program and others.

Yvette joined SDFAS a few years ago and is now a Kindergarten Associate Teacher. She has enjoyed working and finds it a very fulfilling career to work with children. She loves to go hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and grandsons.
