Admissions Process
Becoming a part of the San Diego French-American School community involves 4 key steps to ensure a smooth admission process. Here’s a brief overview:
1. Inquire, Book a Private Tour or Attend Our Open House
Discover the vibrant bilingual community at San Diego French-American School!
While our Open Houses for the 2026–2027 school year have concluded, our Admissions Office would be delighted to welcome your family for a private tour. Come explore our campus and see how we inspire students to thrive in a rich, multicultural environment.
2. Submit your application
Start by filling out the online application form available on FACTS, our application portal.
This includes providing personal information about your child, previous educational history, teacher recommendations if applicable, and most recent report cards.
3. Schedule your child's assessment and parent interview
Upon receipt and notification of your completed application, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a parent/guardian meeting and a student evaluation session.
For children ages 18 months through 5, the assessment is a 45-minute play-based session with our Preschool Director. For those over the age of 5, the assessment encompasses a conversation, and an evaluation in reading, writing, and mathematics in English and French (if applicable).
4. Complete your child's enrollment
If your child is accepted, you will receive an enrollment contract to complete. After submitting this contract and paying the necessary fees, you will be invited to several community events to give you an opportunity to meet teachers, learn about the school community, and prepare for the upcoming school year.
