Frequently Asked Questions
The Annual Fund, which begins in the fall of every school year, is our primary fundraiser. Through the years, the Annual Fund has enabled us to pivot and respond to evolving and current circumstances early in the school year, overcome challenges and seize opportunities as they arise. It also enables us to provide faculty with additional resources in the middle of the school year. If you can only make one contribution during the year, the Annual Fund is the best way to contribute.
We encourage you to make a meaningful gift commensurate with your family’s financial ability. Every gift makes an immediate impact and each gift is deeply valued. The suggested Annual Fund gift is $1,250 per child, but the key to the Annual Fund is for everyone to give at the level they can sustain. All families, regardless of any financial assistance they may receive, will be asked to donate to the Annual Fund. Each contribution makes a difference in the life of the school and the quality of education that your child receives.
We are aiming for 100% participation in the Annual Fund from our faculty, staff, parents, and trustees.
Participation rates reflect to the broader community that our families and stakeholders are committed to investing in our students’ futures and supporting the school’s mission. A strong show of support builds confidence in our community, empowering school leadership to move forward with strategic initiatives.
High parent participation has played a key role in making us eligible for foundation grants and securing loans. It also encourages businesses to support our school through sponsorships, underwriting, and in-kind contributions.
SDFAS accepts checks, gifts of stock, or cryptocurrencies, Donor Advised Funds (DAF), and credit cards. Credit card gifts can be made online at this website by clicking on the Donate Now button below.
Checks can be made payable to SDFAS and mailed to the Development Office, SDFAS, 6550 Soledad Mountain Road, La Jolla, CA 92037 or dropped off in person. All pledges and donations must be paid in full by June 30th.
For a transfer of securities or a gift in cryptocurrencies, please contact Véronique Rahmati at development@sdfas.org or (858)456-2708 extension 304 for detailed instructions.
A pledge is a promise to the school that you intend to give a donation by the end of June, which is the end of the fiscal year. For instance, your family can pledge to give $2,500 to the Annual Fund in October, but for tax purposes decide to make a one time payment in January.
Absolutely! Our Annual Fund goal is to raise $350,000 for the 2025-2026 school year, and you can help us get there.
Encourage fellow parents, grandparents, alumni, and staff to make a gift. One simple way to spread the word is by sharing bit.ly/sdfassupport with your network.
A powerful way to support the school—no matter the size of your own gift—is to offer a personal challenge or matching donation to inspire others to participate.
For more information, please contact Véronique Rahmati, Director of Development, at development@sdfas.org or (858) 456-2807 ext. 304.
As I reflect on the past 10 years at the San Diego French-American School, I feel proud to have been part of the community that has made so many positive changes possible.
It’s especially meaningful to me because my children have directly benefited from these enhancements. These improvements have enriched their experience alongside the traditional French academic program, helping them grow in well-rounded ways.
