Our Head of School, Isabelle David, led and organized the AFSA 40th Conference from January 28 to January 30 at Hotel La Valencia. AFSA (Association of French Schools in America) counts 54 accredited French schools in the US and Canada. As the long-time AFSA President of the organization and elected Vice President for the upcoming tenure, Isabelle David led the conference with resounding success, welcoming 85 guests (consisting of heads of schools, directors, thought leaders in education, and the department Head of the French Embassy for French Schools in America, Olivier Boasson).
Renowned speakers such as the French philosopher, Frédéric Lenoir, EdHu2050 founder, Delphine Le Serre, and Microsoft CVP of Program Management, Steve Dispensa, delivered inspirational talks on Artificial Intelligence in Education (‘Les intelligences au service de l’apprentissage’). Following a comprehensive schedule, guests attended workshops, toured the campuses of San Diego French-American School and Le Lycée Français, and listened to a presentation on student-led projects, such as the long-term Aquaponics project with SDFAS middle schoolers.
Let’s warmly congratulate our SDFAS student ambassadors, Juliette Toudic, Aurélie Woiwode, and Eva Monpays, whose flawless and insightful presentation at the conference impressed all AFSA Heads of Schools (the presentation was conducted in French). Bravo SDFAS students!
