Laure comes to SDFAS from the San Francisco Bay Area where she has worked as a preschool teacher for the past 20 years. After enrolling her first boy at a play-based preschool, she joined a Parent Coop when her twin boys were born, and became passionate about play, and student led learning. She worked at a children’s art studio, and started a lifelong interest in creativity. She then trained and worked in Reggio Emilia, emergent curriculum and project based inspired preschools, that always had chickens. Her previous school was an outdoor only school. Laure grew up South of Paris, France and graduated with a Masters in Literature, specializing in Linguistics and French as a second Language. Her true love is with children, observing how she can support their play and expand their learning through play. She moved last summer to San Diego with her husband. She loves to travel between her oldest boy in San Jose, and her twins who are finishing school in Montana.
