Maliza was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2002. She grew up in a small town in North Carolina before deciding to move to San Diego with her family to pursue her B.A. in Literature at UC San Diego. After receiving her degree, she worked as a Digital Project Manager at a Christian Ministry, where she worked for four years. Deciding to explore her interests in publishing, she worked at an independent publishing house for 1 year before working at SDFAS.
She spends most of her time attending concerts, finding new restaurants, building legos, reading books, and playing with her two dogs, Paxton & Preston.
